Just a quick note of thanks;

It was my first visit to Fabuliss in July but it won't be my last. I gather you call it a 'chill-out night' when there is no disco or party, but it's a great bar and so many friendly people.

Thanks everyone for making me so welcome. I shall definitely be back!

Wow, wow, 1000 x wow!

What an amazing evening! Only my second time at Fabuliss, and what a fabulous place it really is. Everyone is so welcoming, that even a new girl like me felt at home. I still can't believe that I won Miss Fabuliss 2010, part of me is convinced it's an elaborate hoax to be sprung at any moment.

Thank you so much to Linda and Natasha for organising not only last night's competition, but Fabuliss as a whole. And a BIG thank you to everyone who was involved in Miss Fabuliss, the judges, competitors, Rachael the amazing compere, the audience... everyone!

I'm still totally on cloud nine, and hope not to come down for a long time!

For those girls wondering about whether to take those first steps out... don't hesitate... RUN to Fabuliss and you won't regret it.

Abi - MISS FABULISS 2010 !!

A huge thank you to Linda and Natasha for all their hard work in putting on Miss Fabuliss last night. All the girls looked terrific and put in a lot of effort and congatulations to Abi who looked absolutely stunning!

A great night and brilliant fun. Fabuliis continues to be one of the friendliest venues around and a superb place for new girls to experience their first night out.

Good luck to all the contestants at Miss Fabuliss 2010 on Wednesday evening. I hope everyone has a wonderful evening - it looks like a great line-up of talent, prizes and entertainment.

I would love to be there but family commitments mean that I can't make it. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures and hearing reports from friends. Make sure you give them something to tell me about :-)

Have a great time, everyone. I'll be there with you in spirit - and hopefully in person before too long.

Love

Having finally plucked up enough courage to ring Natasha, l find myself sitting in the car park.
Everyone l see walk in, just looks so very good that l am now having doubts about going in, but no l have to do this.
So April 14 is a very big day in Sadies life.
l am not sure if it counts as being out of the closet, but l was out dressed and talking to people.
From the moment that l walked across the road l was made to feel relaxed and welcome.
So if anyone else is sitting at home on their own, do get out.
You will receive a warm welcome and made to feel at home, and that you are not alone.
So l will end by saying thank you all very much, and the people that took the time to talk to me, l just hope that one day l can look as good as you do (in my dreams.)
Take care and be happy,
Sadie X

Most of the comments in the Guestbook are entered just after the monthly meetings. Quite rightly, they usually concentrate on the enjoyable evening of the event and on thanking the organisers, entertainers, etc. I thought that, for a change, I would submit something part way through the month, so here goes.

This probably sounds naive to the more experienced among the girls, but I wanted to express this somewhere and hope that the Fabuliss Guestbook is a suitable place. Perhaps it is even of interest for girls who are still hovering outside, reading the website but too nervous to step across the threshold and join in.

I am a new arrival at Fabuliss, having only been to two meetings. I have been unhappy in my gender and a (very amateur, and very hidden) crossdresser for almost all of my life, though. I knew there were many others like me 'out there' but never had any contact to anyone for fear of either exposure or exploitation. I therefore cannot say how delighted I have been to find Fabuliss and to know that there are such people working away in the background to 'normalise' life for those of us who share this condition and interest.

I was a bundle of nerves on my first visit last autumn. I need not have feared anything, though, and by my second visit in February I knew that I was 'home' and safe among friends. That the Fabuliss organisers had secured, on our behalf, the acceptance of whoever runs the village hall in a small, conservative and probably initially sceptical or even hostile part of semi-rural Hampshire spoke of commitment and perseverance. Simply knowing that such a group existed was such a boost to my confidence; I can hardly explain it. It makes such a difference to know that the group is there in spirit for the rest of the time, apart from at the meetings. That knowledge has enabled me, in a short space of time, to enjoy and develop my femininity enormously.

I used to be almost ashamed to browse the cosmetics displays - now I can openly ask advice from the assistants. I am not afraid to ask to try on a skirt or dress - in some shops, at least - which I would never have dared to do in the past, pretending it was always "for my wife" and dreading the need to return it (or write it off as a loss). It is thanks to the simple existence of Fabuliss - not to any specific act of help or advice - that I have discovered the reserve of courage which enables me to do these things and more. Of course, in an equitable world one should not need 'courage' to buy a dress or a lipstick but the fact is that we still do.

My thanks, therefore, go not only to those who created the ambience and entertainment for the evening of February 10th, but to the very institution of Fabuliss itself and to the girls who are prepared to come out and be counted, even if behind closed doors. You have all, without realising it, helped me to feel 'normal' and much, much happier. Thank you all.

Once again I had an absolute blast this month. Well done Linda, Natasha and all your helpers. your combined efforts really does create something special for us all. Rachel's singing set was awesome and sated my dancing itch, lol. Buffet was immense and as mouth watering as usual, big up for Sue. I tried my best to clear the deserts but failed.
All in all anouther fabulous Fabuliss. see you all next month

From: julie (Thu 11th Feb 2010 at 20:04)
Linda & Natasha,
Thanks again for a splendid evening.
As before, Rachel put on an excellent and varied cabaret, and she is such good company to be with.
Sue's buffet was again without equal: blow the diet, I went round twice!
And we get so much support from the other RGs who attend - Michelle, Mandy, Rowena, Angela, and also for the new team of young girls: so sorry, but can't remember their names at the moment.
So its only 27 days to the next Fabuliss event: can't wait.
take care girls,
julie

What an exciting & vibrant lovely exceptional group of special Ladies you all are down at '' Fabuliss '' ,. I actually recognise quite few ladies though I really only know Young Danielle from her original visits to our TV Club{s} of Ron Storme & myself,.. I closed the TV club over ten years ago, in October 2000, two weeks after my Ron's sad demise. I've a very large Personal Profile on TVChix, though as I'm on both sides of said fence, I personally reckon it would be far more reaching if I were to move down there,.even if it's in a Tent,..
In the meantime may I Wish You All what I'd Wish to also happen for myself Too within this Fresh Lovely New Year of 2010,.

What a great evening at the Christmas Party! It's hard to think what Linda & Natasha could have done to make it any better.
Phil & Rachael put on a really great cabaret, entertaining us for at least an hour and a half. Their repetoire was huge, performing a very varied range of numbers, including several special requests. I hope that they will be able to come back again at some time.
I was one of the lucky ones getting a little something extra in my cracker - another nice idea thought up by Linda.
And the buffet so kindly prepared by Sue was second to none
So, Girls: Have a great Christmas, and hope to see you all (and some new faces?) in January.
take care,
julie

Looking forward now to the Christmas party!!

I paid my first and sadly very fleeting visit to the meeting last night (11 November). It's the first time in 30 years that I have dared to leave the house 'dressed'. I was a terrified bundle of nerves but thrilled to see so many lovely people there once I got inside.

I knew, having seen the photos on the site, that I could not hold a candle to the beautiful hair, makeup and clothing which would be on view but I simply had to give it a go. True enough, everyone looked fabulous but that at least encouraged me to make more of an effort. Thank goodness for the low lighting.

I send my thanks to Linda for her relaxed welcome and to Deborah and Lizzie for the brief and friendly chats I enjoyed with them. It was all so natural! I don't know when I'll next be lucky enough to be able to attend but when I can I will. I wish you all, T-girls and Real-girls alike, every happiness and hope to join you again soon.

Yours
Dee

Hi Girls

Another great night, this time a disco with tgirl 'paula' PJ keeping us on the dancefloor till close to midnight. Thanks PJ you did a great job.

We paid a tenner, which included hire of the hall, the disco itself, the attentions of Linda and Tash and so many lady volunteers. For £5 you could have a big plate of chilli or £3:50 for a c&h toastie and salad. A pound bought you a strip of raffle tickets and as always loads (well over a dozen of raffle prizes).

The good times came free. Loads of lovely girls, many with wives or partners. All pleased to chat or join you on the dance-floor.

I can't emphasise too much what a jewel we have here in Liphook.

I've missed once in 12 months and regret that!!

Can't wait for next months Chill Out night and in December the big Xmas party

Thanks Lynda

And the singer was fab too!

Once again thanks again for such a special evening.
Special thanks for all the girls who bravely went onto the catwalk, and of course to the winner & runners up!!! They all added so much to the evening.
I occasionally help with an organization who puts on various events and know the huge amount of work needed to prepare for them: i'm sure the vast majority of the girls present last night (me included) have no real idea just how much effort Linda & Natasha put into planning and staging these meetings. A huge THANKYOU to them, and of course all those other people who work behind the scenes to make these such special evenings for us!
Also, what a Fabuliss entertainer - really hope that we will be able to have him again sometime fairly soon.
my very best wishes to all, and continued success to Fabuliss.

By the way, I forgot to add that here in the U.S. we have a national organisation called Tri-Ess. I was chairperson of the northeastern U.S. (New England) branch of Tri-Ess. We also have monthly meetings where crossdressers and their spouses and family members can meet and relax. Everyone brings some dish to share for the buffet. We discus various aspects of crossdressing as it affects us, our families, and the communities in which we live. It seems as though you run your meetings on a similar theme. If you're ever in the Boston area around the second Saturday of any month you're welcome to join me at a meeting. Helene

From: Helene (Thu 12th Feb 2009 at 20:44)
I'm as old as dirt, 71. I used to live in Liphook many years ago and now live in Boston USA. Like one of your other posters I also dressed up in drag for the Liphook Carnival back in 1955. That's when the Anchor Hotel was a high class hotel and restaurant. We scandalised the guests by running around the dining tables with collection boxes.

I've been crossdressing since I was about 7yrs old. Over here they call us transgendered, I prefer the term "dual gendered" because I have no intention of transitioning through surgery.

I visit UK at least once a year to catch up with family. My next trip will be in Oct '09. I hope that I might have the opportunity to meet you all.

My daughter in UK sent me the Daily Mail article and I read the on-line comments from the people of Liphook. Kudos to all involved except Paul Harris and the Daily Mail. Helene

At least the Daily Mail has printed a letter from a supporter (06/02/09)so they appear to be fairly even handed. The basic content says \\\"What would they rather have, drunken yobs who contribute nothing and cause trouble or polite and elegant transvestites\\\" The defence rests!

I read the Daily Mail article about Fabuliss online (I wouldn't never buy the paper like that). I just wanted to say that I hope was not too distressing for you and your family and that you will be able to continue.
Reading through the reader's comments the vast majority were in support of the club saying things like "live & let live".

Very Best wishes,

Nothing like an article in a national newspaper to make me feel less lonely.
When when your wife buys you lingerie you know that you are not weird.Let's be realistic,When you get home from work and shower and put on female clothing to relax you know that it is right unless she leaves a note saying that I should wear maid's clothing

Just wanted to thank you and the whole team for making the effort to create a such a great new 'venue'.

It's a lovely bar-room and last night (January chill night),the background music, fashion TV, made for a perfect place to chat and make friends.

Thanks too for inviting Treloggan wigs. I shall have to see your own clothes on another occasion.

I'll try to make it as often as I can, but will certainly do my best to spread the word.

Fabulissimo!

Well, i wrote that i would be at the opening night, and am VERY glad that i was.
As promised, it was a Fabuliss evening: very pleasant music, played at the right volume so we could all talk comfortably. There were loads of RGs there who chatted freely with me, and i am sure everyone else, giving fantastic advise on what to wear, make up, and generally 'being a girl'. As for the buffet - well it was great quality, and would have fed an army.
I traveled 35 miles to be there: knowing now how good the event was, i would certainly have gone further to be there. Here's to the next meeting!!!
PLEASE come to it.
best wishes, julie
